CFO Evolve is a team of Portfolio CFOs. We work alongside the MDs and owners of privately held businesses that have outgrown the way they are run, and who want clear direction, control of cash and the confidence to act on what they see.
A Portfolio CFO is an experienced CFO, often with wider executive roles such as COO or CEO in multinational or listed companies, who works inside a small number of businesses at once. That brings CFO rigour, an operating rhythm and executive judgement to the MD, rather than finance reporting alone.
Every CFO in our team has held executive roles in multinational or listed companies. We are based in Sydney and work with clients across Australia.
We are often brought in ahead of a specific need: funding or refinancing, an acquisition, a more complex group, rapid growth, a business that is not in good shape, succession or a sale.
Why we do this
Most MDs we meet do not need more reports. They need to know where the business is going, how it will get there, the risks along the way and the cash to fund it.
Our objective is simple: to help you sleep better. When those four things are clear, MDs tell us they feel calmer and more in control, and they see what is happening across the business in time to act on it rather than after the fact.
We get there by combining the rigour of an experienced CFO, a regular rhythm of meetings and reporting that keeps the business on track, and the judgement that comes from running businesses ourselves.
Our founder
Matt Parry founded CFO Evolve in 2014. He has spent more than 20 years leading and transforming businesses across technology, industrials, manufacturing, services and multi-entity groups, in the roles of CFO, COO and CEO.

How we work and the standards we keep
We ask the businesses we work with to run on clear evidence and good governance. We hold ourselves to the same standard.
Senior people only. The CFO you meet is the CFO who does the work. There is no junior team behind the scenes.
Confidential by default. We see the detail of your business, your numbers and your plans. That stays between us, and we do not describe client work without permission.
Working with your accountant. Your accountant looks after tax and compliance. We look forward and help run the business, so the two roles fit together rather than overlap.
Certified by ESG Verified. CFO Evolve holds ESG Verified Level 1 Ready certification for governance, social and modern slavery practices. Businesses and organisations like those we work with are increasingly asked by banks, government and larger customers how they manage these risks, and we believe in being able to show our own evidence.
