The Evolution of a Traditional CFO. Introducing the part-time Chief Execution Officer

Aptly named; CFO Evolve was created owing to their ability to evolve your business through strategic, results driven advice around financial needs and wellbeing.

A number of articles relating to a CFOs role have been released in the last 20 or so years referring to the ever evolving requirements and role components being placed on a CFO. No longer is this a number crunching role but a highly strategic, pivotal and developmental role in any sized company.

‘As companies put growth and performance improvement back on top of the agenda, CFOs and their finance teams are experiencing greater involvement in strategic and commercial for market and stakeholder communication’

- KMPG 2007.

With many technological programs cutting down on time to produce financials and reporting metrics, CFOs are seeing more of their time being spent on business planning, budgeting and forecasting. This is, on average approximately 30% of their time, and further, most CFOs report that 50% of their time is spent on traditional financial tasks such as reporting, transactions and so forth.

Further, more frequently the CFO has become the sounding board for the CEO in most companies, taking on a more rounded role not too dissimilar to the role of a Chief Operating Officer (COO).

At CFO Evolve, we refer to our CFOs as Chief Execution Officers. We are not accountants or financial controllers but CFOs turned CEOs or Managing Directors that have the ability to take your company forward through robust financial forecasting, management and strategic expertise based on our many years experience running private and publicly listed companies.
